DA-RFO 8 intensifies Food Lane accreditation amidst intense community quarantine by LGUs

Food Lane accreditation is currently being intensified in different DA Regional Offices, including here in Eastern Visayas.

This is in line with Secretary William D. Dar's directive to ensure smooth delivery of food and agricultural products to where they are needed the most - especially in various urban centers of the country.

Earlier today, DA-RFO 8's Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) has been swarmed with walk-in clients applying for such food lane accreditation to be able to avail of the privilege of unimpeded movement/delivery of food, agricultural and fishery products.

This is in response to initial field reports that some "viajeros" or truckers are having a hard time in the delivery of food to different places due to massive traffic build-up at checkpoints set up along highways and other strategic areas throughout the country.

Jennierose Balbuena, a resident of Abuyog, Leyte who caters to the food meals for the inmates in Abuyog Penal Colony, is just one of the early birds that dropped by at DA-Regional Office 8 to secure proper accreditation documents in the form of standard templates downloaded to all regions by the DA-Head Office.

At the moment, the DA-RFO 8 under the leadership of RED Angel C. Enriquez is respectfully advising all prospective applicants for food lane accreditation to bring with them proper supporting documents such as valid ID reflecting the company or enterprise they are affiliated with; delivery truck's OR and CR; including name of driver and other relevant information for prompt issuance of food lane conduct pass.  (FRANCISCO C.
