To maximize the celebration of Labor Day, DA RFO 8's Regional Executive Director, Angel C. Enriquez visited two research experiment stations, to monitor the implementation of various research projects, anchored on the Plant, Plant, Plant Program.

RED Enriquez, together with DA RFO 8's Research Division Chief, Dr. Leonarda A. Londina, had their first stop at the Babatngon Experiment Station. Prior to the project site tour, Station Superintendent, Dr. Emerita Filamor shared the profile of the station, including some ongoing research initiatives and other administrative concerns. They then made a quick tour to the rice production area, duck nucleus breeder farm, indigenous vegetable production area, warehouses, plant nurseries, jackfruit foundation grove, cacao budwood garden, and other projects.

Consistent with the agency's mandate, RED Enriquez also took the opportunity to do some farm activities such as planting vegetables, jackfruit and harvesting egg produce.

Meanwhile, at the San Miguel Experiment Station, Superintendent, Dr. Feliciano Lolo, showed its ongoing production of native pig, native chicken, sheep, forage species, among others.

While the region is still at risk with the threat of COVID-19, the DA RFO 8, through its research stations will continue to advocate urban agriculture both for crops and livestock. In fact, the promotion of diversified farming, Community-based Participatory Action Research (CPAR), aptly called 'Bahay Kubo' initiative, is already underway. ### (Francis C.
