The Pingan Vegetable and Poultry Raisers Association of General MacArthur, Eastern, Samar participated in the three-day Agro Trade Fair on August 23-25, 2022 Organized by its Municipal Agricultural Services.

 

This was the first time they have joined in an Agro Trade Fair. Despite being a first-timer, they won and received 700.00 PHP as exhibitor with the highest sales and 300.00 PHP consolation prize for the longest and biggest cucumber.

 

Sales of assorted vegetables and eggs netted a total sale of 15, 312.00 PHP. Sir Jelo Quirante, the president said: “This trade fair gave our association the chance to introduce our vegetables and eggs. We would welcome those who would go directly to our communal farm just to buy. At the same time, this kind of event is also a way to encourage farmers, for them to know of the support given by the LGU and the OMAS”.

 

The Pingan Vegetable & Poultry Raisers Association of Brgy. Pingan, General MacArthur, Eastern Samar is one of the beneficiaries of the Special Area for Agricultural Development(SAAD) in Eastern Samar. Since then they have received livelihood intervention in Integrated Layer Egg Production and Vegetables Production and Marketing Project.

 

They are willing to join in a much bigger trade fair later on; right now, they plan to expand their vegetable and poultry production to meet not only the growing demand of the municipality but the whole province of Eastern Samar.
