As the entire Eastern Visayas region celebrated the Leyte Landings yesterday, October 20, 2022, Thursday, the officials and employees of the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office 08 (DA RFO 8 ), in coordination with the Tingog Sinirangan Party List and the Department of Social Welfare and Department (DSWD) Region 8 gathered at the gymnasium of the RTR Medical Foundation Gymnasium, Calanipawan, Tacloban City for a day-long distribution of various agricultural interventions, equipment, facilities, conduct of free veterinary services and consultation of animals and the live retail selling of fresh agri products.

 

These are part of the agency’s commitment on bringing the government’s services closer to its people; for people to realize that the agriculture agency is there to assure them it is there to help them improve their lives specially the farmers, fisherfolks and their families. At the same time, people are also encouraged to maximize their vacant/ idle lands and to reach the highest yield possible so as to be food secure right in their own homes, families and communities, and in their own little way, help contribute to food security in the country.

 

Representing President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. who is also the Secretary of the DA, was DSWD Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo and assisted by Director Grace Q. Subong of DSWD R, Director Angel Enriquez of DA and officials of the Tingog Sinirangan Partylist.
