Assessment/Workshop for DA-DPWH FMR projects in Eastern Visayas

The said assessment is a collaborative effort between the DA and the DPWH to report the progress of project implementation on the district offices and at the same time, discuss issues and concerns that impedes the accomplishments of desired targets. The collaboration aims to further increase the synergy to accomplishment the government’s commitment to the provide basic infrastructure and facilitate the transport of food and agricultural products from key production areas to the market.
In her message, DA RFO 8 Regional Executive Director, Angel Enriquez, emphasized the importance of the gathering as she exclaims, “this is high time for us to meet because we wanted also to give you (DPWH) the gratitude for our partnership in the development of the countryside.” Dir. Enriquez underscored the importance of FMRs in countryside development, “FMR is a very good investment of the government because its part of the development, and I hope that both food security and security (for peace) will be realized”.
Meanwhile, Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Larry Sultan, highlighted the contributions of the FMRs to our farmers, “even through the small reduction of travel time, because of construction of FMRs, you are helping the farmers in attaining mas mataas na ani at kita.” ###
