Vegetable BGS Derby now underway

The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 8 (DA RFO8), through the National Urban Agriculture and Peri-Urban Program (NUPAP) and the Balance Fertilization Strategy (BFS) Team spearheaded its first coordination meeting for the conduct of the Vegetable BFS Derby yesterday, March 9, 2023 at Brgy. Cabintan, Ormoc City.The team, composed of Maria Rufelie Gula, NUPAP focal person; Purisima dela Cruz and Arlene Aguelo, both from DA RFO 8 – Research Division; and representatives from the Ormoc City Agriculture Office, met with the farmers, headed by Cabintan barangany chairperson, Hon. Rodelito R. Cantay and Hon. Renato L. Metran, SBM-Committee on Agriculture, seven (7) identified farmer cooperators representing five Farmers Associations of Cabintan, two (2) Seed companies and seven (7) Bio-fertilizer companies, to discuss details on the project implementation which is slated to commence on April 24, 2023 and culminate on June 22, 2023.
