Main RIARC Babatngon showcases multi-crop commodities either for research or production utilization. The station is endowed with vast fertile land that is suitable/adaptable for various rice varieties. At present, technology demonstration ofBasmati rice, aromatic rice that is being strongly promoted by Usec. Emerson U. Palad is being conducted at the station. With the adaptability of different aromatic rice varieties to climatic conditions of Region 8, the Main RIARC will initiate a massive production of Basmati rice seeds which will eventually transform EV into a granary of aromatic rice in the immediate future.

Also, the present trend leading to the adoption of environment-friendly organic agriculture by farmers has encouraged the Main RIARC to venture along this line. Currently, organically-grown vegetables are cultivated at the station using vermi-compost as fertilizer. The technology serves as show window to farmers/visitors, and hopefully would encourage them to utilize organic inputs to produce safe vegetables for commercialization.

The station is now a multiplier of sweet potato cuttings for distribution to other stations, as well as to farmers interested to go into camote enterprise.
